Animal testing can be very misleading and the results can actually be irrelevant. For example, penicillin was shown to be extremely poisonous because testing done on animals.

Alternative tests, for example microdosing, have been developed for many things because people standing up for animals rights, and exclusive full dose testing is unnecessary in many cases. If people continue to take a stance against vivisection, even more will be developed.

Living in a free economy, the American fast food industry is supported by people who also couldn't care less about their health. The consumer also has a responsibility, and by limiting an industry that complies with health and safety standards, freedom of choice would be suffering.

Children should have an option be taught about religions in general to help them become more tolerant, accepting, and generally knowledgable. They should not be taught creationism in lieu of evolution, however, and not in a science class but in a religions class. Teaching these things to older students, in a high school or junior high school setting, would probably be more appropriate than elementary. Students should have the freedom to choose whether or not to believe these things.

People are already informed about the dangers of smoking, at least in the USA. Children are shown pictures of diseased lungs and the worst cases of smoking diseases. These images won't scare the crap out of them any more when they've already been exposed to them. Smokers choose to ignore what they already know.

Humans as a species have the same purpose as any other species on this planet, which is to say existing and continuing none, if we are defining purpose as a reason for existence.

If the definition s some sort of goal, no, every individual has their own ambitions or lack thereof. The human race isn't working as a whole together for anything.
