I agree with you, and the general attraction to the freedom in USA was based on our democracy..the chance for a better future. The Democrat party leans toward socialism, and in theory, the Republicans toward capitalism.

It amazes me though to see the wealthy leaning toward socialism and more and more of it filtering into our country..Social Security, Medicare, and maybe Universal Health care in our near future. The problem is with our middle (and upper middle) class who work 46 weeks/yr (avg), 30-50 years until retirement and are taxed hardest to "share".

I can't BELIEVE it's UNIVERSITIES making this suggestion! But then again, I saw more of the same when I was a student during the Vietnam war...there ARE unintelligent people attending, teaching, and graduating at universities. My own kids have recently graduated and I know for a fact that they didn't drink LESS when they turned 21, they just started going to bars where they could have MORE, they TOLD me which bars gave them them the best deals for pitchers of beer! But to top this off, alcohol would be available to a percentage of HIGH SCHOOL students!!@ Imagine that, high school students who can BUY ALCOHOL, and who are surrounded by younger students who have to find someone who will get it for them!@

Kanjorski may have brought some good things into our area over the years, but they don't make up for using our tax dollars to pay his family members millions of tax dollars in a useless "research" program. His "new" interest in illegal immigration is not enough in comparison to Mr. Barletta's support. When our family members immigrated to the USA, it wasn't for all the "free" welfare and medical and SS money that the illegal immigrants come here for now.
