Not everybody uses their smartphones when eating. It is basic courtesy.

But you have to consider this also: How do they arrange the time and place to meet if not through the social media? You have to understand that it is only through social media that these groups of people are able to meet up and have a meal together. Without it, do you think that these groups would be sitting and eating leisurely together like that?

Social media is exactly what it is for. Using skype, facetime and AIM requires the person to have their contacts already saved inside. However, in social media, it is so much easier to search for the person's name and chat them up. And it is more likely that they are online in these social media groups than skype, factime, AIM, etc.

Sure, there are some tweets that are for advertisement. However, these tweets would only appear if you 'follow' these advertisers. Otherwise, these kind of tweets would not appear at all.

Through twitter, friends can actually communicate with each other if they do not have the phone number of the other party. This causes them to be more sociable. Twitter also allows these people to express themselves freely, with people replying to them to agree or disagree. This allows people to be more sociable because there are more interactions between different people.

Through social media, they are also able to garner more support from the citizens. This is also a good way of interacting with the citizens, providing an easier platform for the citizens to communicate with them. This causes the citizens to be more social with their ministers in real life as well, making it easier for the citizens' ideas/ grouses to be shared with the ministers instead of having a barrier of communication between them.

Social media allows friends to stay in touch no matter how far away they are. Before social media was introduced, many people have lost friends from their early schooling years. However, after social media was introduced, these friends are able to connect back with each other, even organising get-togethers and events where they can meet up. This shows that social media helps to make people more social instead of less social.

Yeah, through chats and forums you get to know more people and also get to know them in real life~

Social Media is platform where others can meet new people. Through these social media platforms, these people get to know one another and may converse in real life after chatting with each other in the chat box/ forum. This leads to people having a real social life through social media, and not making us less social.

Raffles's plans were for Singapore, yes. But look deeper, did it in any way benefit the people?

Farquhar was reluctant because he was smarter and he had HEART, he CARES for the people.

Since when were the plans ruined by Farquhar? It wasn't. He IMPROVED on it, having the interests of the people in his mind while doing so.

Does it mean that poor people can't be founders?

Or are you just implying that poor people have no RIGHTS to be a founder?

From what I know, Raffles sacked Farquhar based on the fact that Farquhar did not exactly follow the plan that he had done up for Singapore, but instead changed it a little-->putting the PEOPLE'S interests at heart. While Raffles just wants to stick to his plans, THINKING it will benefit the people of Singapore. So on what grounds has Raffles to sack Farquhar?
