The frightening thing about the abortion debate in this country is that not enough attention is brought to the fact that white men often have the strongest opinion on the matter.
While I am in NO way religious, I understand that some people are religious, and that abortion goes against their beliefs. Why is it, then, that these people do not respect my views (or lack thereof) and are ffighting (sometimes violently) to make abortion illegal.
Leave it up to the WOMEN who should have teh right to chose, on a completely individual basis.
There will be no greater day in the history of the US, or at least for as long as I have been alive. Bush has disgraced our country and our values. His issues, which got out the "value vote" in 2004 were not my values, by any stretch of the imagination. He has disregarded the Constitution on plenty of occasions and has single-handedly RUINED our perception abroad.
He has done irreparable damage. It will be good to have him gone.
Total, unabashed fiction. People feel they need to believe in something, and what better "idea" to believe in than life after death or eternal grace or any of that other nonsensical jargon.
I believe in a lot of the tenets of Christianity- the "do unto others..." and "turn the other cheek" but in NO way do I believe that a man (the son of god) was born to a virgin and died on a cross.
Elitist is sort of a tough label, but I have to say that Obama has grand views and grand plans. He sees this country the way it should be as well as the way it is. He realizes what it is like to be a minority, I am sure he has known what it feels like to be poor, he certainly spent times in his life working with those less fortunate, and he still sees the good, as opposed to the greed.
Shouldn't we want our president to be a HIGHLY educated elitist? In the words of a Maureen Dowd column last week: shouldn't we DEMAND it?
I am probably a good person but I haven't taken the time to fill out my profile, so you'll never know! |
