Just as smokers have the right to smoke, we have the right to say it's a disgusting habit. We want to make it aware to other smokers to be considerate for us non-smokers who do not want to take home the stench of cancer. People choose to smoke not because it's addicting, but because they want to make it their lifestyle, despite of the negative consequences. The ones that make the decision to not smoke shouldn't have to be subjected to the people who do. Might as well publicly announce how harmful it is in hopes that people who smoke stop not just for the sake of the rest, but for their own good. Advertising does great wonders for influencing the act of peer pressure.
We would be speaking Japanese right now if the U.S. had gun control the time of Pearl Harbor. It would have been a ignorant decision for Japan to attack the states knowing that homeowners were equipped. Having gun control would make us vulnerable for countries to attack us. Despite of the shooting in Connecticut, which is why this subject is in debate, we would be risking more lives. We need to protect this country as a whole.
