Yes, I believe that government is necessary. They control many companies and organizations that make things safer for us to be around and consume. The government also controls the laws and law enforcement, without those an increase crime and chaos would follow. People would also strive to gain power causing fights among themselves. There wouldn't be anyone to represent the country on a world scale either so we would be in a vulnerable situation. Without regulations anyone could enter the country, buy weapons, sell illegal substances, anything previously perceived as impossible would be possible. They also provide basic healthcare and insurance for many things such as homeowner and life insurance. So, as I said before, government is necessary in a country.
