The only way you can keep anything down is to put a cap on it!!

I have my own insurance from where I work. However I do not believe in forcing anyone to buy health insurance. Health insurance is one thing that can drain your account. Some people feel they don't need health insurance because they do not get sick often. Who can blame them? If you can save $5,000 a year per person why would you want to pay into something you may never use? $5,000 a year can go into my savings. To whatever I save for I may be able to take a family trip or buy a brand new car in about 3 to 4 years.

Right now just through my work I pay $420 for family insurance if they let me go tomorrow or I quit my job I would have to pay $1,095 a month to keep it. I can tell you right now I would have to drop my insurance if I lost my job. I could not pay that full amount per month. Why do we have insurance mainly because of my children and husband? My husband is cover by the VA but sometimes the Dr They are not the best so he is covered under my insurance. Children get sick that is just it. As for myself? I hardly use it. I don't get sick that often or hardly at all. I used it after having my son a couple months back, had to use it to take my daughter in for getting the cold. My husband was shot in the leg during Desert Storm. He has to deal with pain and fragments. If it wasn't for them I probably wouldn't carry any insurance. I just don't get sick that often.

Personally I don't think medical should be so darn high that no one can't afford it out of their pockets. Insurance pools should only be made for the very sick such as cancer, diabetes, and such. I remember when I was a kid. My parents could afford just a simple visit to the doctor’s office for colds and flu's and could afford the meds as well. It is not like this day in time where Dr's. Charge a fortune for the Dr Visit and turn around and charge you again for diagnoses, then get charge a fortune at the pharmacy. Since when did we have to start using insurance 100% of the time? I guess to support Dr's huge houses, expensive vacations to islands, and fancy cars (BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Lexus) and boats! That is all it comes down too. Greed!
