How would you feel, if one day your dad didn’t come home? How would you feel if your only means of money was taken from you, and you weren’t able to provide food for your family? How would you feel if you were killed simply because you weren’t fast enough to follow an order? This was the reality for many people who lived in the shadow of fear cast by Ned Kelly. Kelly was a cold-blooded merciless villain and was a bank robber, a murder and a livestock thief, who lived a life of crime from the age of 12.

Ned Kelly maintained a disregard for human existence throughout his lifetime. According to well respected and leading Queensland physiatrist Dr Russ Scott, the legendary outlaw Ned Kelly has been diagnosed as a “violent and vindictive psychopath’ . He also stated that ‘a close examination of his early developmental history and his subsequent criminal behaviour has shown that Kelly demonstrated ‘very prominent psychopathic features, ’ such as pathological lying, callous lack of empathy for others and a parasitic lifestyle. Kelly’s disregards are corroborated by website The Age, ‘Kelly took hostages during shootouts. In fact, he killed 4 people during the Glenrowan Shootout.’ Kelly also murdered Constables Michael Kennedy, Thomas Lonigan and Michael Scanlon during an assault on Stringybark Creek on the 25 October, 1878 . Without doubt, Kelly had a disrespect for human life.

Ned Kelly is a vicious and violent criminal. He stole livestock and sold them to innocents who later would be charged by the police with receiving a stolen horse and knowing it to be stolen. Ned Kelly was born for a life a crime. This is validated by Australian historian and historic author Carole Wilkinson who claims that a phrenologist who examined Kelly’s skull after his death, found large indents in his skull of ‘self-esteem, destructiveness and love of power ’ and particularly noticed the ‘small area of caution ’. This combination of bumps meant that Kelly would have been destined for a life of crime. Kelly also sold stolen livestock to innocent people who would later be charged with receiving livestock and knowing it to be stolen. These people would be spent up to 3 years hard labour for being convicted . Clearly Kelly is a violent criminal!
