I think this is not feasible, the current market makes that the companies can ask for whatever they want, since there are many people applying for the same job. However, I think the idea is a good one. When someone does not get hired, he never gains experience. Therefore companies should be encouraged to also hire people without experience to give them the chance to gain experience.

Yes, I think the government can better hold a grip on the situation when soft drugs are legalized. I feel that the majority of the problems does not come from people smoking a joint every once in a while, but from the secrecy. When the production process is not legal, this draws in people who are willing to break laws and finances them.

You point out globalization and the growing numbers of internationally orientated students you describe. Do you think the international aspect can ever be left out of studies anymore? Would you go so far as to say it has grown from an additional advantage to a necessity?

I think there will be a future for print media, though the role print media will play will become smaller I feel. While digital is very useful, can be cheap and sustainable, something tangible will remain popular to people. Just as movies have to totally replaced theatre, digital media will not totally replace print media.

The safety argument is stronger in my opinion. The optimist in me says that the government should technically be a non-profit organization, therefore the actions they undertake are not meant for their own benefit, but for the benefit of the citizens. I have to state a critical note that the way information is gathered is important to me, openness towards citizens is as important.

Budget fitness centers do not, and cannot, offer the same as general ones. However, certain aspects of a fitness facility are not so much about quality as they are about possibility. With this I mean, certain machines are either there to use or not, also think of opening hours and proximity. However secondary qualities differentiate the budget from the general fitness centers. Budget fitness centers are often more crowded (as they need the additional members to make up for the budget price), machines are not the latest models and trainers might not be always at your disposal. However if you just want to do your round at the gym with your music on, you often don't care about that.

Controversial, but disagree! I also feel that they do not improve to people's natural inventiveness. Smartphones are merely tools to aid us in general. However, certain applications can be used to actively train the brain, but somehow smartphones are usually used for other things such as social interaction.

Even though the absolute best option in my eyes is to prevent the overpopulation of stray dogs by means of what you said previously, education and neutering/spaying, I am pro euthanasia of stray animals. Stray animals can be annoying and scary to people, but they can also carry diseases endangering the beloved pets. Furthermore, keeping the numbers of stray animals low means that good care can be taken of the few that still are wandering the streets.

I have to disagree as well. While e-commerce is functional sometimes, it is less enjoyable to me than shopping in the street. I like to go shopping with sister or friends, enjoying myself outdoors, trying on different clothes and talking all the way. I believe more people still like the entire experience of shopping, personal contact and the ability to try the products hands-on to have the traditional retail become totally extinct.

No, not per se. Maybe they are a little short to get an entire message across, but they can work perfectly as teaser ads. If they are funny, or interesting and making you eager to see the full message, they can be very functional.

I am not really an expert on watching either type of sports, but I do see similarities and differences. I think the competitive aspect is similar and that is what audiences enjoy as well. However, the physical aspect of conventional sporting events is in my opinion an added value eSports don't have. The real life action of a football game with 11 players on both sides on a big field is a way other experience than opponents on either side of the screen competing and the audience watching the screen (or the players, not sure here...). In that respect, I prefer conventional sporting events, though I might understand people who like the eSports.

Multimedia tools can be beneficiary and are relevant, but not for everyone, not always and not at all schools. They can be used sometimes, but I think schools should be able to choose and parents should be able to choose schools accordingly. Furthermore, not all skills can be learned using iPads.

Freedom or security? Or do you mean privacy or security? I think security is more important. I am convinced that organizations already know more of me than I would like, but I don't care too much about it because I am only interesting as part of a mass as opposed to as individual. They do not really care about me, more about group behavior. Speaking of legitimacy, the NSA was not in my opinion acting legitimate (is legitimacy even an opinion or just a fact?). Not sure how they can improve it, other than being totally honest about their actions.

I agree with this. The internet has very much to offer and improves my life in many different ways. However, on the other hand the internet is often a big distraction from other activities and I remember being able to entertain myself perfectly without the internet. But I come to the same conclusion that there are more advantages for me than disadvantages.

1 point

Yes, I do. In all honestly, it does depend a little on the type. If the type of music is really nice and catchy, I recognize the ad sooner. Then I connect the ad to the product (or whatever is advertised) and if this connotation is positive, I might be more inclined to buy the product. Or otherwise I at least have a positive opinion about it.

1 point

Agreed. Being the first and the fastest seems to be more important than being the most accurate. Readers like to know things quickly and they often do not even care for mistakes (or even notice them). Furthermore, the demand for free news has decreased the quality in my opinion as well.

In my opinion it is not enough. You shouldn't and cannot judge a book by its cover, and the same goes for fashion. A little context is not only necessary in my eyes, but also useful in further engaging and attracting your audience.

I also agree. Morally I am against the concept; however Second Life is not responsible for the people and their actions. There are couples who are more than open in their relationship and both want to have other partners, they will find their way even without the site.

1 point

Definitely no. People have been crossing food families, genetically modifying them, since ancient times. GMO's are food modified for improvement and in that sense a vital ingredient for feeding the world population. I acknowledge that there is a degree in modification, but in general the concept is necessary to feed everyone on earth.

I think social media adds another opportunity for people to be social and is therefore making people more social. The quality of some social relationships is higher in person, but for many other examples social media is avery good, if not the best, alternative. People who are shy in real life, or people who have limited time to actually meet up, can get or remain in contact with people, near and far.

1 point

Strong point. I think that when you violate laws in such a way, you loose some right to privacy as well. Social media is a strong medium and can improve the chances of finding criminals and getting them off the streets. However, public lynching goes too far. There are certain rules and codes in life and media, and they should also be kept on social media.

1 point

True, a controversial matter. However, given the choice I am against. While it is choosing between two (or more) evils, the principle of using cheap children for the manufacturing of goods is against my standpoints. It might prove to be the better of two evils, but it gives out a wrong signal to the children and to the rest of the world to have the labour done by kids under the pretense that it is what is good for them. I believe all children should have access to education and while working they don't.

1 point

I think that they should be allowed to be advertised, however rules and truthfulness should be taken into account. Technically is there is no added sugar (but there is aspartame), the product could very well state this. Consumers also have to obligation to be informed about what they eat.

1 point

I agree. There are many ways in which a social media profile might differ from your true personality. That does not mean that this source might not be useful for employers, because even if the profile is not 100% true, it is what people choose to write down and therefore does reflect some of the personality. However, other sources should be consulted as the information might be totally made up.
