I disagree, I think social media is a great tool to help find wanted criminals. Twitter and Facebook are very big platforms, much bigger then shows such as "Opsporing Verzocht" therefore it is more likely that the criminals get caught. I don’t think the police will use social media if it is not absolutely sure that that person is guilty of committing a crime. And I think when you have committed a crime so terrible that the police uses these kinds of tools, you lost the privilege of being entitled to your privacy. Furthermore we are a civilized society, therefore I don’t think “public lynching” is a serious threat.

Interesting debate!

I think if someone cheats, there is something wrong with their morals, not with the website that promotes it. Unfortunately there are cheaters out there, but I don't think the company is wrong for reacting to the needs of their consumers. I do not think Second Love is responsible for ruined marriages, the cheaters are. It is just like being mad at the girls your husband cheats with. if its not that girl, it will be somebody else. However I would not like to work for this company though...

I think in a world where we are bombarded with all the stories to support certain brands, it is nice to not have content. When I see image content of a fashion brand, I can immediately see if it’s the kind of brand for me or not, just by looking at the images. I don’t feel like a story is going to change that. For example I love shopping at Primark and I like the image content of this brand. But a story would not make me buy the clothes more or less. I also would not make me more likely to follow them on social media.

However with nice image content, I can visualize with what I can combine the clothes, where I want to wear them and how it would make me feel. I don’t need a story to tell me that, I can use my own imagination. The reason for me to follow a fashion brand on Social media is therefore not “their story” or their brand, but the extent to which I can identify myself with the clothes.
