Nobody? You imply God neglects His people while you are dying yourself and facing a painful departure from this world....so who is neglecting to do something about your plight? Nobody, correct? The consequences of sin fall on everybody and only God's mercy allows people to continue in time without being destroyed...and the destruction I'm referring there is eternal dying in Hell....if you don't believe that, don't let it bother you and there is no reason for you to get offended or angry when I say you have one foot in the grave and the other on thin ice which is melting over the fire of Hell. I've rubbed elbows with some formerly hardcore atheists like Slap Shot who got saved, and they have wonderful testimonies of how God found them and what they had to go through before the repented of their sin and believed on the Lord Jesus Christ. One lady I know was a third generation atheist whose father taught atheism as a credited college class. One day it dawned on her, "what if I'm wrong and the Christians are right? My daughter will end up in Hell if they are right. She decided it was unwise to be unsure, believed from her heart that Jesus is God and by God raised from the dead, and received Him as her Savior and was born of the Spirit of God, born again and never turned back to her old ways and beliefs. Slap Shot really is afraid of the changes he knows he will have to stand in if he believes the gospel......he's very dependent on peer approval. He needs to understand that we are not fighting against him, but for him. We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, and powers, and spiritual wickedness in high places....... That is hardly an impressive conversion. That story about the atheist lady who converted because she was afraid her kids might go to hell. Which does not exist, of course. But...yeah...that womam was only taking ol' Pascal up on his wager.
