In a straight marriage, if the male stays at home with the family while the female pursues a career, he's often seen as a failure of a man, and she is often seen as being neglectful of her family. Gay couples aren't expected to conform to traditional gender roles in the same way as straight ones are, and while they certainly have their own stigmas to deal with, at least they don't have society telling them precisely how the responsibilities should be divided within their relationship (even if society is telling them the relationship itself is wrong). I'd rather be told I'm doing the wrong thing and have it left at that than have others try to tell me precisely why I'm doing the right thing the wrong way; at least in a subjective example where we disagree on "right" and "wrong." I do appreciate a point in the right direction when I'm working on something more objective and executing it wrong from a technical perspective. Side: Yes
