I think the dialoge that Matt Smith uses, (while that is techniqcaly due to the writers), is a bit more cleverer that what David used. I like how Smith makes seemingly irrelivant comments, only to reveal a deeper meaning later on. I.E. "Where do you get the milk to cook with?" -Asylum of the Darleks, where is turned out that the woman he was asking was actually a woman who had been turned into a darlek and had repressed the memory, believing that she was just passing the time baking cakes. Eccleston and Tennant are tied in my eyes as far as my Doctor goes. So, clearly I support Tennant in this debate. I have no problems with Matt Smith. He, as the Doctor, really does wear a rather snazzy bow tie. I do believe Tennant was the better, however, because he was able to portray so much all at once. He did well with sad moments and anger, and I love his ability to be very childlike and impish at times. I feel like Matt Smith doesn't have the same range of facial expressions as Tennant. He also seems a bit more stiff at times. I'm also going to get into some of shallow stuff here and say that both myself and my husband find Tennant more attractive, and it's always fun to see the tension between Tennant and Barrowman as the Doctor and Harkness. We refer to him as Captain Jack Hotness. Side: David Tennent

I hope they bring back some of the tenth doctor compainions for a special at some point. Also, it is possible for a meeting between the tennent doctor and the smith doctor because there was that episode when the tennent doctor got cloned and went to live in a paraell universe with Rose. I am sure the writer could do something interesting with that. Side: Matt Smith

David Tennant is brilliant, just absolutely brilliant. I loved him as The Doctor. He did a really good job of bringing out the dark side of The Doctor when needed and when it wasn't in play he kept just barely under the surface. His acting skills made you believe he was living through it all; the loss of all his loved ones and the knowledge he'll have to live life without an equal to the crushing knowledge that being a Time Lord provides. And need I mention the scene where Jenny died? I cried because his emotions seemed so raw and genuine, it was truly moving. (I think they should bring Jenny back, it'd be such a wonderful twist!!) You got to see the true Doctor and the fact he is so very lonely. Matt Smith however, has one angry face and one goofy face. The past season has depended wayyyy too much on his companions because Matt Smith simply cannot portray The Doctor correctly. Side: David Tennent

I agree with the bit where you mention Tennant being able to make you believe he's lived through it all. His eyes, and the way he moved lent to that effect. He was born with those fantastic eyes, but he did have some say in how he used them, which was rather well. You could just see a sad, shell of a person behind those eyes. That weariness mixed really well with his childish and sometimes goofy ways. I also have to agree that Smith has two basic faces, and can't really do much outside those. Amy in particular has been much more memorable this season for me than the Doctor. Side: David Tennent

While I love David Tennant, I must disagree and proclaim that Matt Smith is definitely a runner-up. He is second or third to me. Matt Smith has so many bad-ass moments, thanks to the writers of course, and I admire him for not giving up after his serious back problems forced him away from professional soccer.
