Pd 8: Nurse is innocent because she was always there for Juliet. For example, Nurse states, "on the night of Llammas Eve she will be fourteen. I remember it will be eleven years since the earthquake. She stopped nursing from my breast on the very day" (I.iii.41). This quote proves that Nurse was always there for Juliet, even as a little baby, and she wouldn't have ever tried to hurt her since she raised her like her own. Side: NURSE INNOCENT
Some might say Nurse is innocent because she has helped Juliet out her whole life. But, Nurse is guilty because she pushes Juliet's emotions towards Paris and eventually is pushed over the edge. For example when Nurse states, "... or if Romeo is as good as Paris, Romeo doesn't live here, so you don't get to enjoy him." This proves that Nurse is guilty Side: NURSE GUILTY
Pd 5: Nurse is innocent because she helps Romeo and Juliet get married. For example, when she talks about Romeo to Juliet and their marriage plans, she states, "He's not the most polite man in the world, but he is gentle as a lamb" (II.v.127). She also helps Romeo and Juliet be married when she states, "Here sir, this is a ring [Juliet] asked me to give you. Hurry up, it's getting late" (III.v.179). These quotes prove Nurse wants Romeo and Juliet to be together because of her helping them. Side: NURSE INNOCENT
Nurse is not innocent because even tho she helps Romeo and Juliet get married she also told Juliet that she should forget about Romeo and get married to Paris"madam an eagle does not have eyes as green, as quick, and as fair as the eye of Paris" (III.v.205). this quote shows that Nurse does not care about Juliet's that much because she keeps telling her to marry different people instead of helping her go see Romeo. Pd 7: Nurse is guilty because she was messing with Juliet's emotions and pushing her toward marrying Paris. For example, Nurse states, "...or if Romeo is as good as Paris, Romeo doesn't live here, so you don't get to enjoy him" (III.V.205). Nurse is saying that the only option Juliet has is to marry Paris and that pushed her over the edge to kill herself. Side: NURSE GUILTY
Some people believe that the Nurse is guilty because she is messing with Juliet's emotions but she is really innocent because she helps Juliet and Romeo she helps them both by telling each other and wedding plans. The Nurse states, "Then hurry up and rush over to Friar Lawrence's cell."There's a husband who waiting to make you his wife." This shows that the Nurse helps Romeo and Juliet and she does it behind The capulets back. This shows her trust. Side: NURSE INNOCENT
Some might say nurse is guilty because she was messing with her emotions. But nurse is innocent because in the text it states "on the night of the Lammas eve she will be fourteen". This shows that the nurse was always there for Juliet when she needed her. Side: NURSE INNOCENT
