Non-voting critics of the President of the U.S.

Registered voters who did not vote in the 08 Nov. presidential race have a right to criticize the president of the U.S.

To say no is completely unconstitutional.

It is the equivalent of saying that people with certain opinions, like: that their vote doesn't matter, that they don't have complete access to the first amendment of the bill of rights.

Every citizen of the U.S. has the right to criticize the government, or anything if they so please.

But don't get me wrong I'm not thrilled about people refusing to vote then criticizing elected officials, but they have the right and I agree with that right.

I agree with your position. Would you care to explain why you are not thrilled about a critic who refuses to vote? You’ve used a negative term, not thrilled, to describe an absence of sentiment. What is your sentiment of they with whom you are not thrilled?

Well, I just don't think it's a very cool thing to do. It's good to care enough to criticize but, without a positive side it is kind of pessimistic. For example people that show criticism for all of the candidates without really supporting any. So I guess I'm not thrilled about the negative atmosphere they create.

But if they did support a candidate, just not one in the general election, then I have no problem with that.

It's just that some people find something wrong with every single candidate, and they are always bash bash bash and never show any support.

It is an absolute right whether it is stated in the Constitution or not. Everyone would take it that they have the right to be critical of a person or situation they cannot agree with. But there's the rub! Is it that one cannot agree or is it because they were too lazy to go out and vote and simply want something to complain about no matter who won or lost?

I do have a hard time with people who cannot articulate their reasons for not voting or not believing in our system of government and most especially when they do NOTHING but hold forth about it. I have no hard time whatsoever with people who give a viable and well thought out answer for not voting. I do know some who try and defeat it but to no avail.

I also have a pretty hard time with people who cannot tell me why they are a Democrat or Republican! Again, it's a situation not well thought out or given enough thought to, to begin with. My Dad is a Republic/Democrat, therefore I am.

“It is an absolute right whether it is stated in the Constitution or not.” ??????

Where did you go to school or did you go to school?? Of which church are you a member? In what country were you born and/or raised? You definitely are a candidate for being a terrorist! Have you been asked any of those questions? I have been asked those and many more like them. Truly, there are very few men and women, a remnant, I call them, whose thoughts are not handed to them in sound bites or nifty, spoon-fed quips of internet articles.

Only a radical, unpatriotic, sinner affirms that the rights of man are not the consequence of another man’s authority to determine what the rights of others are and are not. For if our rights are the consequences of the benevolences of law-makers, then the same law-makers can strip us of our rights when they are being benevolent unto themselves and their friends.

Conclusion: The rights of all men are not the jurisdiction of any man.

I am well pleased, for what its worth, that you realize that your rights are not the product of another mans authority. Few men and women think such terrible thoughts.

My response was geared more for Jakes comments than anything else. Jake is a Constitution boy. Anything that is written there is tantamount to the appearance of Moses descending from the Sinai with the Ten Commandments in his hands.

Its under the right to free speech and what if they just happened not to make it to the polls on time? Besides people who have the kind of power the president of the U.S. has should be censored as much as possible.
