Yes, in most cases it's knowing how to logically approach and proceed with the calculation of a mathematical or scientific problem is more important than mere adroitness at mental arithmetic. If for instance, someone who is not so hot at figures but can complete a set of audited accounts is a significantly greater asset to any business concern that a monkey look, monkey see human calculator. The debate heading is too broad. Does it mean technology used by the school facility, or technology as part of the teacher's lesson, or technology privately in the hands of students like cell phones or GameBoys? But I voted for because school has to keep evolving to teach kids to fit in the society they will live in. Technically having a computer and knowing how to type are technology, and the majority of people when they get out of school need to know how to use those things, so yes, include technology. But keep in mind you can taylor what, and at what age range. Grade Schoolers don't need to be making PowerPoint presentations for homework. Side: For technology in the classroo

I think it's important because in a world with more technology, children need to use computers and other electronic devices. More and more jobs are starting to involve technology, so they need experience to give them the skills to apply for a job. Side: For technology in the classroo
When I went to school they wouldn't even allow a calculator in class. A computer was an air conditioned building full of vacuum tubes and other heat generating ... stuff. The last half of the day was mostly wasted in a library trying to find the best information one could on some subject. More can be learned in 5 minutes than we could learn in 5 hours, and copied and printed in seconds. We had to write it out, be sure of our spelling, write legibly, graded on all! YES, technology should be allowed in the classroom, why waste all that time?? Side: For technology in the classroo
