What is so good about Quentin Tarantino?

Every time I read a list of best directors, he is always there. Whenever I read a list of best movies, his are always there.

I've seen plenty of his films - I still can't understand why people like him so much.

They are alright, especially Kill Bill. Inglorious Basterds was dumb.

Well he makes so many movies that some of them have to end up being good.

Pulp Fiction is one of the greatest modern movies ever made in my opinion, not the best by far but one of the greats. The Kill Bill series was another good set of films. Inglorious Bastards was a very underrated film of his that I liked a lot.

He also makes a ton of garbage worthless movies, The Happening had some of the worst acting I have ever seen. He told Mark Wahlberg to act like he didn't know how to act.

So essentially he makes some good movies and some bad. ;)

Do you know what movies Quentin Tarantino made? M. Night Shyamalan made The Happening.

Tarantino made:

Jackie Brown

Pulp Fiction

Kill Bill (1 and 2 - working on 3)

Inglorious Basterds

Grindhouse

Deathproof

Sin City

Reservoir Dogs

Woops, well either way The Happening was awful =) I get M. confused with Tarantino quite a bit.

Grindhouse was horrible, so was Deathproof.

Sin City, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill series, those were all good in my opinion

I have seen Pulp Fiction, both Kill Bills, and Reservoir Dogs. Pulp Fiction was okay, the first Kill Bill was great, the second Kill Bill and Reservoir Dogs sucked.

Quentin Tarantino is a brazen and eccentric type of director. Only film of his that I enjoyed and I don't really watch his films was Pulp Fiction.

Side: Tarantino is average

Pulp Fiction is #4 on the IMDb top 250 movie list. I have seen most of the Top 10 movies, and I think that they are all overrated - especially Pulp Fiction.

Quentin Tarantino film was not content to merely tell one story but juggle three of them within a complex structure borrowed from literature and presented out of chronological order without the aid of flashbacks. Pulp Fiction is an extremely verbal film with numerous popular culture and film references some overt and some not while his characters spout some of the most hilarious and exciting dialogue you'll hear outside of an David Mamet play or an Elmore Leonard novel.
