To color easter eggs. The white crayon is still made of wax, and, although it doesn't show up on white paper, the was does stop dye from reaching the egg. Thus, you can draw on an egg with the crayon and where you draw will be the only place the ink doesn't show up.

It also might be useful for coloring on colored paper.

The purpose of the white crayon is to create different effects throughout your peice. Crayons, made of wax, blend smoothy if they are of quality (even expensive colored pencils have wax in them to make them blend smoother), and on that note, white aids the progression of color whilst blending. White crayons can be used for highlights and lightsources as well as creating all together new colors. I know this from personal expeirence, because I was always that one kid in kindegarten who sat in a corner and just drew all day, as opposed to playing outside (not to say that I still am not like that, because I totally am, lol) But yea, white just helps with shading, blending, smoothing, and highlighting, and also creating all together new hues.

In case you are coloring (is that racist) on black (is that racist) paper. ;)

(1) Mix colours. Colour something in red or blue or whatever, use a piece of card or your fingernail to scrape off excess coating, then colour white on top. Turns it into pink or light blue or whatever :)

(2) Some crayons are strong enough to completely cover coloured paper, rather than mixing in the background colour. You can colour parts of, say, a black background white.

(3) When painting in watercolours, use white crayon over the parts of the picture that you don't want the paint to touch. Watercolours will not set into crayoned areas.

There is absolutely no use of a white crayon. Realistically, how many people even bother moving it from the box? Crayons are bought to color things in...what are you coloring in with a colorless crayon? People rarely even use black construction paper, which is the only thing white crayon can show on.

That is because black crayon doesn't show up on black paper :)

A white crayon can cover up a scratch on a white piece of furniture.
