When elites ignore voters long enough, you get Donald Trump

Trump’s election wasn’t about Trump. It was a throbbing middle finger in the face of America’s ruling class. It was a gesture of contempt, a howl of rage, the end result of decades of selfish and unwise decisions made by selfish and unwise leaders. Happy countries don’t elect Donald Trump president. Desperate ones do. In retrospect, the lesson seemed obvious: Ignore voters for long enough and you get Donald Trump.

As for Hillary, various experts tried to explain the trend. Was it sexism? Russian propaganda? Hillary’s failure to campaign in the upper Midwest? Almost nobody suggested the obvious: if voters think you hate them for how they were born, they won’t vote for you.

I agree with what you are saying and have made similar remarks. What I would also say is that American voters should have long ago voted in a non politician who would try and clean house.

Trump is the type of President we should always have leading our nation. Someone who loves America and all Americans, and someone who is not tied to the elites who usually control the president they helped elect.

Trump did not get in office owing those in power huge favors. His priorities were not paying back those who bought his election. Trump's priority is doing what he told the American people he would do. REFRESHING!

I don't care how rough around the edges he is. Maybe it takes a huge ego to finally get things done in this corrupt world.

He does not live in fear of what fake news says about him. He relishes the battle. He's a work horse.

He probably makes for a distant husband, but he makes a great President.
