A Markhor (Capra Falconeri)? What's so cool about that? Can it do an exploding fist bump? I don't think so ;)

America has an eagle.

Australia has a kangaroo.

China has a panda bear.

Denmark has a swan.

Greece has a dolphin.

Norway has a moose.

Thailand has an elephant.

Russia has a bear.

I think Canada's is a beaver.

Isn't Japan's national animal Godzilla? ;)

We (UK) have a Lion and a Unicorn, so we're one of the few places not only cool enough to have two animals but for one of them to be mythical.

Neither one of them being native to the UK. No offense, but that's kinda stooopid.

OK. There are no such things as dragons and unicorns and lions are not native to the UK. If you still think that's OK, then Japan should be allowed to pick Godzilla as its national symbol. ;)

Well at least daffodils, bulldogs and roses are native to the UK and the Japanese can do what they want choose to represent their culture in whatever way the want with whatever symbol. Dragons/Wyverns are an important part of Welsh culture as they a mentioned a lot in the Folklore of the area.

Maybe Canada should switch over to a shaved beaver as its symbol ;)
