I'm not a professional scientict or anyone but i researched about this finally i realised that the founter of mayan calander said that ''the world 'may' end when the mayan calender finishes. Which means he is not sure about that and the possiblething which causes to distroy our earth was a 150 foot astroid named 2012 DA14 and at this time it didnt hit our earth but next February 14; this astroid will come closely to the earth (17,000 miles from earth) which is closer than geostationary satelites
NASA says that the world willnot end on this december 2012.
The mayan calander is true and its period may end on 21st december 2012. But it will be an autocyclic calander just like the ordinaru calander which we use at our home.. Means after december 31st the next date is january1st.
