Technological progress as a whole is a good thing. In our everyday lives we are surrounded by incredible examples of technology that we as a society sometimes take for granted. For example you most likely woke up today and drove to school/work. The car that you drove is full of amazing technology such as built in navigation, built in phone, and a climate controlled environment. You most likely didn’t even think about the amenities that are in your car, but you shouldn’t take them for granted. Furthermore in 2017 we are a society and country that is obsessed with our smartphones, and most people own one and use it on a daily basis, hardly considering the amount of technology that is sitting in the palm of your hand. Some people might agree with me so far, but still hesitate to say that technological progress is a good thing. They might argue that technology will one day be too powerful for humanity's own good. This is the farthest thing from the truth, for technology can only do good in our society, for we as the creators of it hold the ultimate reigns over it therefore we should not be concerned about it harming us. Technology is the crucial component that we as humans must utilize in order to advance as a society, and hopefully one day into a more advanced civilization.
