Social media can help to 'shrink' the world. People far away can socialise with each other and would feel nearer. For example, if two people in different countries want to communicate with each other, they can use different social media like Facebook and Skype to socialise.

Social media is a place for us to socialize at, so it obviously make us more social. Many people say that you cannot interact face to face in social media but it actually makes no difference. Only being able to interact by typing does not mean not being able to interact.
