Of course this would be a good argument if the debate was "Is the Saudi Arabian law code too violent?" but sadly it's not. There is a difference between the interpretation of a religion by its followers and the teachings of the religion per se. It would be equally silly for me to argue that Christianity is a violent religion based on the religiously-motivated Crusades.
