Capital Punishment
Capital Punishment is a detorrant to criminals to carry murder weapons when committing a crime and results in Less Murders.
When Capital Punishment was abolished the murder rate practically doubled this is reason enough to bring it back. In My view only
when the jury is unanimous and there is no reasonable doubt. Eye witnesses must be backed by hard forensic evidence.

Unfortunately, the very fact that there are some humans in the world who would do more harm than good if they ever escaped (legally or illegally) from the confines of law enforcement. For the benefit of society and to protect the innocent, some people may only be stopped by ending their life. For this reason alone, capital punishment is a sad necessity. Government Statistics show that the murder rate doubled when the Death Penalty was abolished - Many people cry but what if we kill and innocent person and yes there have been some but 2 or 3 mistakes May they RIP Vs 1000's of women children and men all innocent killed due to abolishion I can add up can U Side: Yes To Capital Punishment
Granted but I suggest that there are 100's of murders per year of innocent people, if Capital Punishment were reintroduced this would half (government figures show murders doubled immediately ollowing abolision) So we might kill 2 or 3 innocent people with the death penalty but save the lives of 100's of people who would have been murdered. Furthermore if the death penalty were only applied if there were eyewinesses and supporting eviidence and that the jury was unanimous in a verdict beyond reasonable doubt. Currently in law if an offender should abduct a young child and then kill them to prevent there identity (ie the child is a witness) Then the worst thing they face is a long prison sentence but may get away with it as the witness is dead. If the death penalty was reintroduced they would face death and may therefore think twice about killing the child as their sentence would not be so long or final Side: Yes To Capital Punishment

Death is a far less painful punishment than to get confined to a limited existance in jail for the rest of your life. Therefore it is better to emphasise the severity of imprisonment and to advertise it in order to improve the subjective perception of that severity in everyones mind than to murder people. this isn't a debate of an eye for an eye but on weather the detterent works, correct? SO ethics, irrelevent, punishment also and the costs unimportant. I'm not sure there is any conclusive evidence that capitol punishment is any more of a deterrent. People thinking they would get caught is the biggest disincentive. I've yet to hear some one give the reason, I knew I wouldn't get the death penalty, as a reason why they commited this most heinous of all crimes. Side: No to Capital Punishment

Capital Punishment is one of the most outdated systems in this country that is still alive! Nothing says justice like government bureaucrats taking money from citizens just to kill someone. The message of killing people to show that killing is wrong is both hypocritical and unattractive! Side: No to Capital Punishment
