I'm not usually a grammar Nazi, but if you're going to call people retards you should at least not try not to look like one yourself :p

Although I somewhat agree with you, the way to help people embrace science is not by calling them "create-tards". That shies them away from hearing what you have to tell them.

Anyway, though I don't believe Christians are retards, I find them hypocritical and sometimes thoroughly uneducated. Makes me rather sad that people want to believe in a god because they are afraid of life's unanswered questions.

Since persecution of religion is wrong, the way to make people embrace science is to educate the younger group. Something Max Planck said can be applied to this -- "A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather its opponents eventually die, and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it". It is the same with religion, I think.

As an atheist I must say that this is pure generalisation. What are you reffering to are creationists and yes they are retards. Anyway there are many different Christian sects such as Chatolics, Orthodox Christians, Greekocatholics, Kopts, Baptists, Protestants, Lutherans, Evangelists...... If someone is Christian it does not mean that he immediately believes in creationistic theory. For example 89% of population in my country is Catholich, 3% Orthodox, 7% Muslim and only 1% atheist or agnostic and research has proven that only about 20% of population believes in creationism or intelligent design. Even Pope supports evolution. What you said has nothing to do with christianity. You are terribly misinformed.
