Yes, drugs and alcohol can help youth socialize better.

how did you come up to that conclusion ?

Kids have small minds (intellect-wise). Few can discuss topics worthy of discussion (politics, the sciences, history, literature). What else are they to do besides get stoned together?

why do you think that you are right ?

Because I am always right.

where did you get your information ?

Made it up on the spot.

As a kid, I must contend. Not only do I get stoned with my friends, I also get drunk with them. It's a small distinction, but an important one. :D

According to my CreateDebate profile page, I'm 10 years old! I don't think it would be too difficult to make it say that I was, I don't know, 95, or 77, or 32, or even 13!

Regardless, you shouldn't be doing any of that at any age below sixteen. You claim to be only 13, a year younger than me!

Let me guess; you were raised by liberal parents, wern't you? What do they that party in Britain. Laborers, right?

I hope that you aren't implying that you've already had sex. I'm pretty sure that's illegal (maybe a felon) even in England, as foreign as they may be.

Your parents should have raised you better. It's not your fault, don't worry. I would talk to a counselor to consider foster care or maybe adoption.

In the short term, yes, in the long term, no.

how did you come up to that conclusion ?

Experience of both spectrums. In the short term, yes, drugs and alcohol help you socialize loads, its fun, its relaxed, its chill, it's just easier in so many ways. Life seems much more interesting, and conversation with strangers is a great way to pass the time.

However, having stopped myself, I can see groups of friends that have based their entire social life around drugs and alcohol, and they're just unable to talk to each other about anything other than drugs. It's sad in so many ways. Not only has it stopped them from having friendships based on each other as opposed to drugs, it's made them, as people, almost unable to sustain friendships without having the crutch of drugs & booze.

And no, this isn't just one group of friends, it's happened whenever I've known people who've used drugs a significant amount. Sometimes to that extent, sometimes less.

why do you think that you are right ? & where did you get your information ?

Both see above.

Yes, I'd know because I'm part of the crowd. Alcohol and drugs do help youth socialise.

defiantly. At the average high school, the cool kids kiss, drink and smoke. The "losers" do their homework and don't party. This is not always true. As a matter of fact, it usually isn't, but there is still the same idea. Usually. The cool kids will drink etc. and the "losers" won't. do I think it should be like this? No. Where did I get this information? All my friends that go to high school and even my high school.

There's no denying that they do, but at what cost? I think that's the real question that needs to be asked.

"Socialice" better? Yes.

Spell better? Apparently not.

But the brain is still mid-development as a teenager, you are supposed to be socially awkward and large amounts or even moderate amounts of alcohol consumed regularly is far more likely to cause permanent damage.

Being a teenager (most of them at least) is basically like being drunk all the time anyway. You're hilghly emotional, illogical and have horrible decision making skills.

Best to take it easy with the alcohol, maybe a few drinks at prom or other special occassions so long as you're not driving.

nono, this is bad as no 1, it harms your body

no 2, it harm your family relationships

no 3, it will make u listless

no one should take drug..... it is just plain bad, it make u very sad and miserable after awhile as people who were your best friends will turn on you just as you turned on them, i am not saying that they will be like that, i just stating what normal people would, but if it was me, i will help my friend that is taking drugs

Side: against

No! Today teens are very abused and very hardcore when come to drugs. For example a friend do drugs it hurts the family and friends he gots and will also lead to a bad future because the drugs effect their work and will not be a happy ending for them.

its bad to use drugs and alcohol to socialize better, its wrong because you may gain some friends while using drugs/alcohol but you may make more enemies without the use of drugs and alcohol.

Side: against

Both will have a negative effect on youth socialization. Minors would misbehave tremendously.
