Does technological advancement potentially promote a degenerative human condition?

Yes

No

Humans are becoming lazy (just look at me). I recall the cartoon the Jetsons - they became very tired after cleaning. Cleaning, to them, meant pressing a button and letting the robots do all the work. I could easily believe that such will be the human condition.

Things are getting easier, and the laws of natural selection are srtaying farther away from mankind. This is the price of excess.

Yes, just from moving an agrarian economy to a industrial economy is a sign because collectively everyone relies on someone to get something else done. At work, someone cleans the bathroom while someone else sits in the corner office on the top floor. Yet, it is not totally a bad thing.

True. One could argue that technology brings us medicine that we need and thereby ultimately raises our life expectancy; but to that I would point out that the need for medicine comes from the increase in ailments.

The only reason I am in support of this resolution is because of the word "potentially". When you look at it everything has the potential to promote the decline of humanity and thus there is no way to say that technology can't, because technology has to be included in the grouping of "everything".

Understood, but the title is to assume some level of assertion that technology does in fact affect humanity negatively while not becoming a declaration, for I, the creator of this debate, am hoping to attract both views to this debate. It seems I was not successful, however.

Yeah, I figured... I just wanted to do some semantic debating.

Also, yeah I think this debate could have pretty rocking with more opposing views... Oh well I guess you can't win all of them.
