Gun Control Laws
The problem with gun control laws is that its not the gun that is the problem but the user. We need to protect the public from those who cannot use guns wisely, so, gun control means the less unregistered guns in the public domain, and guns available and limited to those who are authorized and licensed to have them. In my country, Australia, there are strict conditions under which guns are available, i.e. getting a weapons license, a permit to acquire and gun storage are strictly regulated, and that takes about six months including a police check. OK yes I know there are a lot of legally bought and illegal guns around in the US so the police and customs need to be vigilant on that issue, but the more guns are controlled in society the less gun violence. We have to have regulation to control accessibility to weapons and we will never solve gun violence if we don't start somewhere, believe me it's a big help living in a society where guns are not readily accessible. 1
