If a being is X, how can it be anything other than itself? Unless he is taught to behave otherwise. Unless codes of society or rules are embedded in his mind. One may be born one way but learns to act the other; leading to confusion no doubt, but would remain no more what he was. Side: Nurture

Although genes play a primary role in making of a man, it develops upon 'learning'. First thought and then behaviour. What a man is intrinsically cannot be challenged with what he could be made. It is often what a man is and 'how' he is made or directed upon. But I believe a major proportion of the making of a man or of any such debated issues, be it personality or IQ depends on the setup that gives one enough opportunities to celebrate and work on self. However, when one's natural element is itself highly flawed and leaves no scope of further development, nature's role in comparision otherwise starts to fade off. While with things such as the IQ, one's competitive nature cannot help; he or she must be 'blessed' with enough gray matter. FOr a person's physical attributes, such as height, genes play a bigger role. But in the making of one's personality it can be nothing more than the environment he or she is brought up in.
