Space Exploration
Space exploration is a very interesting and relevant topic in society today. Many benefits and disadvantages are involved. On the one hand, mining on the moon for helium3 and other plentiful minerals could yield trillions of dollars for the U.S. economy, but on the other hand, the cost of getting spaceships there and back could possibly make it not worth the while. Should the U.S. Federal Government increase funding for space exploration?

NASA is such a small and insignificant part of the U.S. GDP. If for no other reason we should do it for national pride and pure coolness. In reality though, humans always explore, and the nations that have wanted to stay powerful have invested in more exploration. Well, space is what's left to explore. We should be doing it more, not less. Side: More space exploration
Space is the ultimate frontier. If we colonize Mars, which IS IS IS IS IS possible with current technology, then we would have an excellent way to divide the population of Earth into at least 3/4s what it is now, AND have a second source of food and farming. There is plenty of water on Mars as well. This would probably cost 5 billion dollars start up, with an additional 1 billion each year for 5 years. To have that sort of money, all of humanity would have to stop war, and direct that money into this project. It's possible to do this, so why not? - If any punks are reading this, then spraypaint some graffiti like "Take us to Mars" with a little picture of Mars or something. I dunno, but most politicians want to drive us into socialism or a theocracy. Baaaaad news. Side: More space exploration
