With the Death Sentence, there is no hope.

With life in prison, there's chance for parole, and even with sentences like "life without parole", laws can be changed that all of a sudden give them a chance at parole. The death sentence is permanent, and no change in law will change the fact that he's dead, but life without parole basically says "unless some dumb fucks decide to change a few laws around".

then there's the chance for escaping. because, last i heard, prisoners do escape. When they're dead, there is no escape.

a life in prison will suck, buck cold blooded murderers tend to find a way to make it work. it may not be a sweet life, but they will not let it be a shit life.

whether there's a Hell or not, the very fact that they will no longer be able to enjoy the "gift" of life is a pretty horrible punishment.

I would really like to know. In October, my cousin was found in a lake (some of you might have seen her on the news, her name was Brittaney Rayan Galindez). They later determined that she was murdered before she was dumped in the lake. They later caught the man who did it and my family is now trying to decide whether or not to give him the death sentence. I honestly think that keeping him alive in jail would be better, at least then he would have to live with what he did while he spends the remainder of his life in prison.

I agree with you wholeheartedly Anime! I see no reason to take another life and I have never been for the death penalty anyway. There is no proof that executing someone changes the statistics for the better. The deed is done, unfortunately!

I'm not certain the family can decide whether or not to give him the death sentence. I think it depends on what the law says and what the charges actually are. I can only imagine that the family would like to lash out at the beast who did this and that is quite normal. People like to hurt those who have hurt them in such a life-altering way that cannot be changed.

I'm sure her mom and dad as well as sisters and brothers, if she had any, will miss her terribly and they will hurt forever from something so senseless and unnecessary. I don't remember seeing anything about the incident on TV but then again I rarely watch it. It also depends on where this took place. I'm from Connecticut and we get mostly tri-state news here (NY-NJ-CT)on a local level. Where are you from? Were you close to her as a family member or in age? You must miss her if you were at all close.

I wish the entire family the best in dealing with such a terrible loss and that no one lets their anger get the best of them when the trial comes. Good luck!

She was on the channel 13 news i think, she died in Seattle, Washington, maybe thats why people from other states haven't heard about it. Brittaney was my mom's sister's daughter, and she was five years older then me, but we were still pretty close. She was the party type of teenager who always got kicked out of the house during family get togethers, so i didn't see her that ofter, my maternal side is very small, so i did notice when she wasn't their. I regret not spending more time with her now. I am really worried now because my aunt is very sick and i am afraid that she might die, then my her other children, 15 year old Justin and 8 old Christina, will end up living with us.
