Information that had been recorded in history may be of little relevance and are deemed to be obsolete. Events and problems that had happened in the past are caused by conditions which vary from that presently or in the future. For example, government policies in the past that had dealt with divorce rates or a low birth rate may not prove to be successful in the future. This is due to the changing nature of economic and social conditions which affects the causes and reasons for divorce or for not wanting to have children. Also, with new developments, new problems also arise. History is not beneficial in dealing with the emergence of viruses and epidemics such as SARS and H1N1 and crisis such as global warming. History would thus not be of much help in dealing with new problems that arise in the future. As such, while it is true that we can learn from history, not all that we learn from history is valuable in the future.
