It's EASIER to mantain GOOD relationships on social networking sites means it's easier to maintian good relationship online but does not mean that it has replaced your social interaction in real life. It only means that it helps to strengthen your real life relationships, and if your friend fall out so easily just because of something on the internet then she/he may ot be a true friend.
It will be more expensive to travel around the world just to payyoue friends a visit if you are from another country, so it's easier to keep in contact with them on facebook and ohter social networking sites. And also, you can makes friends easier and not so awkwardly when you're on the net then face to face context.
