I'ts true that conquered lands citizen were tormented in that time normally but for muslims the prophet of islam (peace and blessings upon him) prohibited that to kill women and elderly, disabled , kids , men who don't want to fight back. And those who pay the jizya has been spared, and jizya is paid by men who can pay, and not kids or elderly or women. And jizya is less than Zakat which muslim pay. And suicide is prohibited because , God has created you to worship him, by worship isn't only praying there is also giving charity even if it's a simple smile or talking good doing good not being arrongant and thinking you are above others so God will test you with hardships those who are patients will pass the test but those who kill themselves hurt themselves will be punished in the hereafter.

As you know , I'm muslim and this debate is about what is happening in the so called free world. First I'm clearing misconception about islam. In no way Islam promote killing or beheading someone , or killing yourself by bomb. In fact suicide is prohibited in islam because you may hurt yourself and the prejudice of " most death are caused by muslim " or " muslim are violent" in fact in 2003 did you know that Obama has launched three bombs per hour or Christianity has a caused a higher death than muslim.
