A good education is a human right and not a privilege. Many people may disagree, but many people may may also agree for many reasons. A human right is a right that is given to anyone, no matter their gender, nationality, color, ethnic origin, religion, language and so on. A human right can’t be given or taken away from anyone. “Human rights are the foundation for freedom, justice and peace in the world.”
One reason why many people, including myself, believe that a good education is a human right is because the international human rights law ensures that every person has the right to receive an education. According to article 26 from The Universal Declaration on Human Rights states, “everyone has the right to education". After that, many other international groups including the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the UNESCO Convention against Discrimination in Education have recognized and spread that education is a right to everyone. Therefore, one reason why many people, including myself, believe that a good education is a human right is because the international human rights law ensures that every person has the right to receive an education.
I am probably a good person but I haven't taken the time to fill out my profile, so you'll never know! |
