Despite the obvious fact that words are definitely a more convenient method for the information relay as compared to pictures, it has to be acknowledged that visual imagery such as pictorial represtentations can allow people to grasp concepts or comprehend the gravity of a certain situation to a larger extent and can also reach out to a wider audience. For example, people who are illiterate cannot understand what words mean, however, if they observe a picture, they would be able to comprehend the point that is trying to put across, hence in this case, due to the wider audience that pictures can encompass, it is more powerful than mere words.
