First I wish to say that I am an "independent" voter, who used to vote republican. I am a Christian who does not support abortion at any cost, nor do I support gay marriage. Oh yeah and (I'm white, if that's import, but I know it is to the GOP). Well here it goes.
I am so sick and tired of hearing the GOP bash the poor, the disabled, and those who work minimum wage jobs & those who are unemployed and must have food-stamps to feed their children, or who are on disability or SSI. My husband has a master’s degree, but is ill now, disabled and bed-bound.
I just went through a year of treatment for stage III breast cancer and I have 2 very gifted and top-of-the-class college sons, who would not be able to attend college without financial aid and student loans. It's not like the days of Leave It to Beaver anymore, because I know, I was blessed to have one of those child-hoods. Time to recognise that things have changed and "the American dream" isn't available to everyone anymore, no matter how hard you work and try to save!
There are many people who are among the "educated poor", like me, who are the uneducated poor?
I think they've been quite educated in "the school of hard knocks" which many of the GOP have never experienced, myself included!...You talk about "ENTITLEMENTS" O BOY DON'T GET ME STARTED!.....the wealthy or well-offs are the ones who feel they are entitled to everything: such as bounces, trips, dinners, vacations, pensions, ect...
Blaming the poor who most often work 2 minimum wage jobs, and who are sometimes single mothers working over 12 hours a day, blaming them every single day on your radio show is so out of touch, Rush, as if they are thinking "wow, I must not buy these potatoes and this hamburger today with these food stamps, because someone had to pay more taxes.” No, Rush, they are hungry. Did you hear me? I said HUNGRY! For every dollar that goes to welfare or food stamps, over $3s go to many large corporations who are too big to fail! (A problem, no matter who is in power Democrats or Republications, example AIG who mismanaged over $180 billion dollars and continued to give big bones to their executives of these corporations, now who wants "entitlements".. who wants "Santa Claus"?)
That cost our tax payers way more than the sick and poor and unemployed in this country! Not to mention Goldman Sachs! The GOP think that they are better than the rest of us because they are the party of "hard-workers" lucky enough to stay healthy, made it through college and have a good paying job.
According to Rush Limbaugh, whom I have listened to almost every day for several years, until I came to the conclusion that he resents anyone who needs "help" to survive from day to day just to pay rent, put gas in their car, let alone pay for car repairs (that’s if they had one), insurance and gas to get to and from work.
I don't think he has studied the scriptures where Jesus says:
When I was hungry, you gave me something to eat, when I was thirsty, you gave me something to drink, naked-clothing, in prison, you visited me, sick, you comforted me, and a stranger, you took me in. In as much as you have done it to the least of these my brothers you have done it to me!
I love this country, and I've always worked hard, I rent and I feed and have taken in international students who have need because no one else will, and families that had nowhere to go, and because the Lord Jesus is entitled to my service!
Hey Christian brothers and sisters, the GOP has high-jacked you, hoping that you will vote against abortion and gay marriage, when all along they will do nothing about it anyway. We cannot expect nonbelievers to live as Christians, all we can do is try to be like Jesus and do all we can to love and give of ourselves to others so that it will result in the conviction by the Holy Spirit, which can bring the lost to Christ, and then intern they will confront their own sins, as well as I must do, as we all have sinned!
The majority of people in this country love this country and our constitution, but we need jobs, food, clothing, a roof over our heads, and encouragement!
The "turn-off" is this: how the lowly peasants like me "want stuff" what “stuff” Rush? Food? Good health? A tiny apartment away from the cold? What stuff Rush? Hope? A Bible to read? Some toilet paper? Medicine? Oh, yeah. I remember some poor single mom with 4 kids got a cheap $10 phone so she can call 911 when she's in danger! How deplorable that she get something for free? I could rattle on and on... Oh yeah it's called "class warfare" no it's not Rush! It's called being "HUNGRY" get it? I don't think so!
"Let him who has ears, hear what the Spirit has to say".
Romney's comment about the 47% had a lot to do with it but you've been saying that kind of rederick everyday on the radio, haven't you Rush, so yeah, it was because you turned us off Rush.
Hope you never loose your health or go HUNGRY!
I am probably a good person but I haven't taken the time to fill out my profile, so you'll never know! |
