If I could save any book, I would save Wanted by Sara Shepard. It is an entirguing book full of mystery and suspense.

I do not believe that mercy killing is very reasonable, however, in the case of a crippled dog, if he is being put in pain to stay alive, then putting it down may be the better way to go. For people in society that are either old and crippled or intellectually challenged, there are multiple different things the government and others can do to help them. The complications these people deal with can be treated with health support such as medicare and special education. I don't consider Lennie's death to be justified in any way. Although special education services were not yet available to them, there was still plenty society could have done to help the mentally challenged.

I enjoyed the first chapter of the book, and i am excited to read on. The bond between George and Lennie is very unique. George tries very hard to protect Lennie, however, it seems as though he is trying to restrict him. When Lennie finds the mouse down by the river, George demands he to give it to him, remembering how Lennie would squeeze their heads until he killed them.

"Cain's statement symbolizes people's unwillingness to accept responsibility for the welfare of others— their "brothers"." The tradition of Christianity and Judaism is that we are responsible for the wellbeing of others, is it not? As it was said before, where would this world be if it was every man for himself?
