If your talking about on an individual basis, then yes it is worth it. I will never tell anyone who has the option to go to school to not pursue it. I was talking about on a Systemic level. Is the way we approach education and the acces to it worth the prices we pay? Or are their better methods with which to provide education to people, and recognition of that education, than the ones we have been using since the before the 1800s. Sorry i went into politics and you were talking about on individual levels.

Having the knowledge and skills assocated with specific degrees are worth it. If you are going to go into the social sciences then, no not really, thats where every wandering soul ends up, choose something with a real skill quantifiable skill.

Yes, no, maybe so. Out of all the lesbian parents i know, ONLY 2 would deserve the title of a good parent. Most have severely damaged their kids in one way or another. Physical and verbal abuse runs rampant in those families.

It really was the opposite experience i would have expected, i imagined i would find the same homes provided by the gay couple i know. A caring but firm family wth 2 responsible (sometimes more than me, actually often might fit best) parents. Instead i find resentful women taking out their frustrations with life out on their kids. The only hope i have is that all these women must have been straight at some point because they didnt plan for those kids.

In conclusion i would never support it unless it has been planned and isnt some type of mistake or regret. Please just give the kid the kindness of sacrifice (to the darklord), rather than 18+ years of torture.

Most of those are failing, london is hiring taxis/ubers to take kids home after school because stabbings have become to common a thing do to the migrant crisis. New Zealand and australia are water locked. Was it sweden or denmark that recently became the rape capitol of the world. In germany immigrant students have started reffering to germans as "victims". Also in germany a 17 year old girl was sentenced to prison for using pepper spray on two immigrant men who were trying to rape her. They meanwhile got off because "they didnt understand the culture and laws." Same excuse they gave for the people who took part in the torching of over 100 vehicles.

Are greece and spain no longer cutting back the free care provided due to their recent economic colapses?

Also lets not forget the fact that many people from other countries fly into the U.S. to buy the care that is not provided for by their governments. Forget wait times too, its not like it can literally take months to start up care after signing on to these government programs.

Soooo.... Yeah. Europe has triggered an alien immigrant apocalypse. And you really dont have to try and hang massive immigrants as they tend to hang themselves, all one has to do is provide them the rope to do so themselves Most of these countires universal healthcare is failing slowly but surely.

Are these issues an inherent problem with socialism and immigrants? No, its a problem with the Elitists like Obama, Clinton, and Merkle who pretend to push socialism and be marxists only to use his ideas as road maps for power and a bourgeisie style government.

Precisely, though i would argue that the few that are now waking up to it and trying to change it are being actively hindered by those on the left. From twitter to cnn.

I am confused at why you disputed me? As you said "college is the basic need of the citizen in order to have more job opportunities."

Pretty much lines up with what i was saying. Its a need, not a want. It's not a question of worth because it is the only path.

For example if i came across a man dying of dehydration and offered him a gallon of water for everything he had on him, do you think that he will not pay? That in that moment he will not pay for the barrier between life and death? Is it worth it? At what price would he be expected for it not to be considered worth it?

I would argue that its not "worth it" it is merely the only option available.

This is how i feel about the current state of things. If you were given ultimate power in this matter what would you change?

Hello Excon: :)

I would agree that those aren't the choices. In my experience both terms have been used to describe a wide range of different ideas and prescriptions to the problems we face as a society.

I would argue that Capitalism is not the default. Even here in America we see HEAVY government regulation and spending. That is not a product of capitalism; which essentially states that government should have no hand in trade.

Bargaining is only the default in situations were people are on some equal playing field enforced by the social structure. Bargaining for most of human history tended to be based on either strength, cost, or utility. But say if civilization A believes that they would benefit from destroying civilization B or enslaving them. They would do it. Without a set of belief systems and a social structure to enforce peaceful cooperation we often devolve into tribalistic warfare of one form or another. Humans have the most amazing ability to rationalize why they should see "others" rather than "members". From politics, to religion, and even diets.

A good example of this is found in the flea markets. I have often found that the price offered to me is 5 to 10 dollars cheaper than the price offered to my white companions. With no overseeing structure ensuring a continuity in pricing and the social structure pushing the belief that because they are white they must have more money, these shop owners find no qualms with their obvious discrimination.

Now as for doing things as a nation. This is the biggest folly in socialism that i can find. The socialist of today and yesteryear are constantly telling us government control is good. When i look though i find the opposite affect. Their is an obvious trend of government regulation and a rise in cost and expense in daily life. Their has been an increase not a decrease of people at the bottom. Its why you find the most income inequality in democratic areas. Whether by good intentions or bad you find that most problems become exacerbated with government involvement in industry. Housing, medical, education. Hell, even the "need" for a car has been artificially created by government.

As for the idea that people have different names for social services, eh... maybe. My problem is more the delivery than the spirit. Under "Government Socialism", the type pushed by both the DSA and the Democratic party, aims to push for a government ran industries rather than government led.

This is most relevant in the current debate on education. The left wants more taxes to pay for our antiquated and swollen public educational monopoly system. The right is suggesting instead that we provide vouchers to parents so that they may instead choose between private schools in their area. They argue that through a voucher system parents will have a choice in the school that their kids go to. That through a voucher system parents will be able to demand better results and bankrupt (or essentially fire) any school that they deem unfit by pulling their kids out and sending them to another school.

They argue that it would put an end to the redlining we see take place in public education. This current system that produces ever dying schools and forces the poor into the worst schools merely cause they live in a low tax area that cant afford better schools, teachers, or facilities. Also many current private schools are operating at half the cost per student than their public counterparts, for better educational results.

Ben Shapiro even expressed the idea that we offer parents 50% of what they do not use as an incentive to be more economically minded about their choices. The difference in these prescription come from the differences between capitalism and government socialism. Where as the capitalist thinks that the individual can make much better and more dynamic choices that the government or some bourgeoisie in some government seat or administration. Meanwhile the government socialists believe that either they or a governing body on some council can do better than the common man. they believe that the one size fits all prescription offered is better than the choices an individual would make.

As for me I would say that the answer lies in the middle for now. Start a voucher program for the parents who see a benefit and continue the public for those that see a benefit there.

Finally, who writes the checks does matter, I hear many "socialists" say that government writes the checks. Uhhh,no, government does not produce anything and is therefore incapable of writing any checks. Government money is the money of the proletariat, not the money of whatever crooked politician (bush, Clinton, bush, Obama) seeks to lay claim to it.

No anytime government asks for money to run something a business could do, i am highly suspect.

Every Marxist government the left has ever praised has always failed. In every one you can find a strong government control over industry. In every one you find bourgeoisie at the top, while the pros get squished under an even stronger boot.

I THINK Marx would back me up here. After all he too pointed out that government was a tool of the bourgeoisie. Not its bane, but its friend.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marx'stheoryofthestate

In conclusion, for me the answer is found in the crossroads between the x line of capitalism and the y line of socialism.

P.S. Are you saying that cops are uncorruptible because they are paid for by the state? or that they offer better service because they are paid for and answer only to the state?

1. Not known or praised for stealing money from the people. Had LBJ as his running mate, A staunch bourgeoisie racist.

2. It has often been disputed by many economists on wether or not the new deal helped or hurt America. After looking at the evidence i would suggest the latter. Either way, once again, we see a big time racist on your "A Team" as one of the agreements made was no New Deal for blacks.

3. The biggest racist of our time, Obamas biggest legacy is not his bowing down to international leaders but instead his forceful takeover of the medical industry, which of course hurt more people than it helped. AND somehow made things more expensive and time consuming, not less which was SUPPOSEDLY the democrats goal. (Which of course isnt true, like most politicians, whether on the left or the right, He just wanted money and power. Of course this seems to be most prevelant within the democratic party. Its why the version of socialism they push is one of a 1984 nature, not the free society we are supposedly after.)

Its funny that you think other hate him cause he is black. How sad a thought that you really thnk that there is a significant amount of people who actively hate black people or minorities. if you really believe that then you very severely have not been paying attention, you just think you are. Yet every time one of the people who think like you is questioned they are SEVERELY outmatched. I wish that you would learn to think things through soon.

OF COURSE NOT. That's like asking if its worth the money to have a broken window replaced. NO, if its something that could have been avoided by say, NOT breaking the window in the first place, then no one would have to pay for it. College is like that as well, it is not something that is really "worth it" its just another toll we have to pay some rent seeker if we want access to a successful life. No, its never worth it, not while bourgeoisie politicians and teachers unions use it as a from of indentured servitude.
