You're exactly right! What could be better than being controlled by the government and having virtually no freedom?

Trading what??? Private ownership is a free-for-all that drives individuality and basically defines "survival of the fittest". Government intervention is communism. Don't tell me you think communism and capitalism are the same.

Nowhere did I mention anything about politics. The death penalty isn't a democratic thing. Freeing criminals who have committed acts that deserve a life sentence definitely shouldn't be freed, that's a mistake on the government's part. I'd rather these child murderers/rapists and violent offenders rot in jail for life.

You're welcome for the proof that the government is incapable. But that doesn't do anything, does it? If the government can't carry out the death penalty efficiently, wouldn't it just be best to call it quits and let justice be served in the name of life imprisonment?

"The study counted death penalty case costs through to execution and found that the median death penalty case costs $1.26 million. Non-death penalty cases were counted through to the end of incarceration and were found to have a median cost of $740,000."

What is the point of an argument if there's no self-satisfaction involved?

Death is easier than a life sentence. Some criminals deserve to rot in jail. The death penalty is also more expensive than just confining the criminal to prison for a lifetime.

As the other person said, I agree that it is totalitarianism. This isn't "The Giver". Whether a person dies from COVID-19 or doesn't is that person's responsibility. It's a matter of free will.

It depends on your definition of believing in god. It is reasonable to believe in god as merely an existing entity. It is NOT reasonable to believe in god as a "savior". I'm not bashing anyone's religion. I just believe that it is unreasonable to turn to god for assistance. No one can save them except themselves. According to science, space, time, and matter had to have been created at the same time for the universe to exist, so "god" probably exists. This supernatural being created the universe. But, it has no obligation to intervene in this world. God isn't anyone's savior. Anyone can believe anything they want, follow any religion, but there will never be any divine intervention.
