Be Honest: Do you think I have an obsession with points?
Billie is kind of annoying me today, because she can't forgive people for making mistakes.
I don't care if she gets more pissed of at me, seeing as it's the internet and I don't take people seriously usually.
This site is a hobby, it's a game, it's for fun, anyone who takes it too seriously is missing out on life. I gave myself a little competition, the thing to reach Joe's points, to make this site more fun for myself. Otherwise I'd just leave.
And sorry if I offend anyone else, I'm short-tempered today. lol
I think yes. But I don't think it's a crime, you're just slightly new to the site and have yet to understand the full purpose point system (conclusion made by questions asked on other debates) .
I think the point system, to some degree, is to keep us competitive. Not completely, but I think part of it at least. We won't know since the original creators are gone I guess.
Well, seen as I was the one who pointed this out to you, I am obviously picking this side. Yes, you are completely and utterly obsessed with points. Furthermore, you are also rather obsessed with hating me, so to accuse me of that same thing is really stupid - but that is something you often do; contradict yourself, hence the enitre debate accusing me of craving attention when in fact this is your hobby. All negativity aside, one cannot help obsessions therefore I hope you gain the number of points your obsession requires you to achieve. :)
P.S. I forgive those who hurt me and also hate very few people, and you are not one of them. Saying that, I do class you as my CD enemy - but thats just a tag isn't it? Also, I am flattered that you create debates about/inspired by me, hugs

This is a debate site, not a competition of points site. So, if you don't acheive your mission, you leave? If this site disabled the points system, you'd leave? Are you serious? If you were to debate something really serious and you succeeded, you would have status that was not related to points and would probably gain a great deal of respect. Isn't that far more rewarding than gaining points for a post containing only a few words relating to hair or boobs?
If there were actual debate winners, like in real debated that'd be fine too. I'm just having fun. And there'd be no point if I didn't do it. I'd make my statement and almost everyone is too set in their beliefs for it to matter. So I gave it a little purpose. But you seem to think it's something else.
What I am saying is, what is the point of being a part of a debate site if you are only in it for having the most points and without the point system you would leave? It seems rather pointless to me. I do think its an obsession but since this is just the internet you shouldn't take everything so seriously therefore you ought to "loosen up" ;)
P.S. how did you come up with all those names?

You clearly do care about forgiveness as it was your opening statement in this debate and you even stated that it "annoyed" you that I wasn't forgiving your "mistakes". Before seeing this debate, I would have said no... but now I'm not so sure? Having said that, I really don't care... if you like the points, then good for you, I see no problem with that... I don't really pay much attention to the points because I think the system is seriously flawed.

Saurbaby08, no, I don't think younger obsessed with points. First, It is great to have a goal no matter what younger doing. The fact that you are trying to make this fun just makes sense. Some take it seriously, some have fun and some just passively observe. Everyone is needed to make this site what it is and I appreciate everyone's participation (especially the regulars like yourself). Please continue on your quest. If you make it we will have to have a new category for the awards...something about most active or such.
To be honest i dont know whether you have an obsession with points but the fact that you continually post debates looking for vilification or gratification definitely makes me question your motives regarding this debate site, but whatever floats your boat.
Hey i dont want it to seem like im judging you or anything, i respect you a great deal (well as much as a person on a internet debating site can respect another person on an internet debating site anyway, which i suppose isnt much compared to people you actually associated with in real life but you get the idea).
Anyway, im just saying i have observed alot of self-interested debates from you, thats all. Im not saying your self interested (this is the internet for fucks sake i know your just looking for mild entertainment) i mean if thats what entertains you, fair enough, keep posting debates like that, i have no problem with them, in fact i enjoy participating in them myslef, i dont think theres anythings wrong with them or you for creating them. All im saying is when you post debates like those people infer certain things based on the persons motivation in doing so.
BTW i admit the majority of your debates are very serious and interesting, i dont want this to seem like im criticising your debates either.
Take my word for it if you trawl through some the correspondance me and Joe had you'll see how wrong this statement is, over the course of my many debates with Joe we exchanged alot of insults.
But the best way to rack them up seems to be to create 15 or so pointless debates a day and put a ;) at the end of every argument. Least from what I've observed.
It is illogical for anyone to be obsessed with points because there's no reward. I do not think you are illogical. Therefore, you must not be obsessed with points.
