I think one needs to reconsider and revisit the reason for guns in the US before deciding whether or not to ban guns. I come from a country where guns are banned and our laws severely punishes anyone who tries to smuggle any form of weaponry, let alone guns to the country. The country is safe, so to us, it is a no-brainer - ban guns and punish smuggling of weaponry and guns. However, I also understand that this issue is much more complex and deep-seated for any simplistic rulings to be passed. So while I am inclined towards a "yes", I would also qualify that a more indepth and objective study of the issue is required. As an observer, there are many layers to the issue and I think that each layer needs to be tackled carefully before a long term solution can be derived. But this means that it would take time, which is not something that the US can currently afford. Side: Yes:People shouldn't die.

The murder rate across the planet was higher before guns. The murder rate in the US has been declining sharply for several decades even as gun ownership has risen. Banning guns will be less effective and more dangerous than banning alcohol. Side: No:I want more people to die.

The murder rate across the planet was higher before guns. Cool. The murder rate across the planet was also higher before communism. Therefore communism. You're such a deceitful little scumbag, Amarel. You are always looking to abuse logic, draw false correlations and manipulate language around your authoritarian neo-Nazi bullshit. Yes, let's ban guns for everyone except the people who use them in the worst ways possible, the government and criminals. You see, when you ban guns, that stop citizens from getting them legally, but it doesn't stop criminals from getting them illegally. Nor does it stop the biggest criminals on earth, police and military, from getting guns. Side: No:I want more people to die.

Maybe they'd still get guns, but it would be harder to get them. Less easy. It would make a smaller chance of them killing a bunch of people with a gun. We want the smallest possible chance for someone killing people and this won't work immediately or maybe even effectively, but it will lower the chance of people dying by guns. Also, I agree that the police force of America is shit. Side: Yes:People shouldn't die.

A woman should be allowed to have an abortion no matter what, whether she was raped or not. But that's a completely different topic. So what I am getting from your argument is that 'A rape victim should not be able to have an abortion. And she wouldn't even have gotten pregnant or raped if she had a gun to shoot the rapist. All rapists should die.' Sorry if I am wrong, please correct me. But, she wouldn't have gotten pregnant or raped if rapists weren't raised the shitty way that they were. LMAO who is going to carry a gun around wherever they go. What if someone was a teacher and they had to walk home. They were scared of being raped while they were walking home so they decide to bring a gun into the school and wherever they go. Everyone should learn how to scream loudly for 'HELP' and self defense. Side: Yes:People shouldn't die.
