Those in power should be held to the highest standard of ethics and responsibility, and if they fail they should be kicked out of their position. The same goes for the wealthy because wealth IS power. How it works in capitalism though is that the bigger the impact you being corrupt would have on society, the more you are likely to get away with it. You can simply buy your way out of legal trouble by affording better lawyers, bribing the media, using the leverage and yesmen you have to bully people into tolerating your scumbaggery etc.

the corporate/banking elite and politicians are pretty much above the law and in a just system would be held more accountable to the people than the people are to them.

And what are you doing to fight it? Apart from sitting in your underwear preaching to people, trolling the internet and posting raps which look like they were written by a six year old with Tourette's?

In a lot of ways I think you are legitimising this type of system because of the way you use it as a weapon to talk down to everybody who you think "doesn't get it". You aren't interested in changing anything; only with pretending you must be smarter than everybody else for noticing how it works. In actual fact, a lot of people know how it works, because that is who you have gotten your information from in the first place. You just repeat stuff you've heard other people say and then use it as leverage when you are writing lengthy posts insulting other people.

You are part of the problem and have nothing to do with its solution. There is no moral issue for you with the way capitalism works because you demonstrate the exact same behaviour you are criticising. You terrorise this website, and stick two fingers up in Andy's face because he can't stop you using it, even though you break the rules every hour of every day. Then you have the bizarre audacity to criticise capitalists for doing the exact same thing on a grander scale.
