Pit fighting is a classic American pastime, and banning it would represent a total breach of our constitutional rights to do whatever we want. If I enjoy it, and no real people are hurt, then what's the harm? It's better than okay! It's one of the few examples of victimless entertainment around today! [this debate is stupid because no one seriously thinks that dog fighting it okay - it's like making a debate titled "is cancer bad?". you're basically asking for a one sided circle jerk.] Side: yes
maybe its not OK..................because you yourself said "no one thinks that dog fighting is okay" for shits and giggles. if there was a prop on a national scale ballot, or may when the president is being elected ..................if there was a prop that made pit fighting once and for all illegal.............and lets say at least 80% of voters said ban it........ would you still support something that a clear majority of the people disagree??? and i am no expert, but where does it say in the constitution that killing/ beating animals is OK and plz do not use chicken/cows for food as an example because we do not eat a pit bull after it has had its neck ripped to shreds and bleeds to death in a basement. I do have one opinion tho, a little off topic I cannot believe how many people cried and hated and protested Mike Vick when he got caught for dog fighting, but people do not even blush when they see a person killed for penny's in their wallet.. some people need to leave their house and fall in love with a person or people in general. we appreciate our dogs and cats more than we appreciate our fellow man!!!!!! that is sad in my opinion. Ehh. Very few people still care about Michael Vick. It's not so much that we care about animals more than humans as it is that out attention spans are very short towards both of them. We just care about the latest catastrophe for a few months, and then forget about it - whether it be dogfighting or people starving in Africa. Side: yes
i agree about the news of the moment theory, but that is simply due to the 24 hour news cycle..................but many people love their dog or cat more so than their children or as much. and when something happens to a dog or cat, they relate the abuse to the "children aka pets" they have its wwIII. some people truly act in a ridiculous way towards their pets. they truly have a better relationship with their pets than to their fellow man and in time causes leads to the crazy ppl protesting dog fighting, but not blush when the 8 year old kid two streets over was rapped by the neighbor.
