Teachers should not reward students, because it will cause students to lose the intrinsic motivation to do well and instead rely on such gifts by teachers. Students will look forward to the rewards during their course of study and when this supply of reward is cut off, it is most likely that the students find no further motivation to excel. Of course, it is also not fair to the other students who have worked equally if not more hard, but do not receive the reward. They will be further discouraged and this leads to a chain of negative impacts on them.
