I agree with what Esho said. Darwinism does have to do with the fact that species arise and evolve in Natural Selection. Also that Social Darwinism has to do with survival of the fittest. I do not agree though with his disagreement of Social Darwinism, because in the real world the strong are basically the only ones to survive. If you get pushed around in life you will never make it anywhere. For example if you are in high school and you allow yourself to be bullied, you will not want to go to school anymore because of that, so if you are weak you will not make it through school.

The difference between Darwinism and Social Darwinism is that Darwinism is a set of movements and concepts related to ideas of transmutation of species or of evolution. Social Darwinism is a term from the nineteenth century that has to deal with survival of the fittest. A similarity between the two is that they both deal with evolution. They also have to deal with the evolving of humanity. People also use these two terms for different reasons.

I agree with that Darwin's concept contributed to eugenics. I believe this because in his concepts he discussed survival of the fittest and evolution of mankind. His discovery of Natural Selection help state the fact that people/humanity develops overtime.

During Darwin's time slavery was in existence. Also the Industrial Revolution was going on.They could have influenced his work by seeing how blacks were treated differently than white people and that could cause his Natural Selection to come into play. He believed that they were not at the top of the Natural Selection chain since they were different than everybody else, but he was against the slavery. Some people who influenced Charles Darwin were, James Hutton, Charles Lyell, and Jean Lamarack. Darwin influenced people all over the world, but he made black people upset by saying they are very closely related to apes.
