It is true that pictures existed before words. However, how can we explain the appearance of words in human history? Is it possible that an inner need and pressure made people invent words?
What is more, everybody claims that a picture is worth a thousand words. In spite of this point of view, many people consider that there is no boat that can drive you far away like a word. Indeed, only one word is available to make you take a long journey to your deep thoughts and even to generate countless images. So, it is also true that a word is worth a thousand pictures, isn't it?
A picture can show us at a glance what takes thousands pages of a book to explain. A unique image is available to make our mind travel, with destination the world of emotions. Besides that, everybody knows that a picture is worth a thousand words.
Moreover, what is the use of the books without pictures? Words are lies, traps and nobody can trust them. Words are unable to give a really impulse to communication among people. That's why art exists.
Last but not least, the importance of pictures can be appreciated with a short retrospection in the remote past. To be more precise, the first way of communication of the cavemen was the nurals. Therefore, it's clear that images were sovereign from the first years of human history.
