Should corporal punishment of children be legal under certain circumstances?

I believe that if a child is openly being disrespectful and destructive and will not respond to reason, disciplining them should be allowed to stop the behavior. For example, if a child is throwing rocks at people and cars, and they wont listen to you asking them to stop, you should be allowed to beat them publicly.

Yes. I believe that if a child is openly being disrespectful and destructive and will not respond to reason, disciplining them (calm public discipline) should be allowed to stop the behavior. For example, if the child is being violent/rude, or they are being opening disrespectful and destructive of other people's property. The same applies to grown people in my opinion.

Sometimes, when children are misbehaving and being extremely destructive, their behaviors should be addressed. However, this should be public and the parent performing the behavior should be heavily scrutinized. Furthermore, the spanking should be performed calmly and the reasons clearly explained so that the child understands the reasons behind it. The reasons behind it should be recorded and submitted into a database in order to track the parent's behavior. If no written record is made or the beating is not justified, the parent should be arrested or fined.

If there is another way and time is not of the essence, beatings should be avoided.

There is a HUGE difference between "beating" a child and correctional spanking. If the child has been told multiple times not to do something, has been punished multiple times and are STILL not getting it through their heads that what they are doing is wrong then yes, they need a spanking. It is important for the parent to remember not to spank while they are angry and to explain why these consequences are necessary.

I think restraining them and relocating them would work better than corporal punishment.
