Yes. Its the same thing that nature does. Nature selects for survival characteristics by random genetic changes, where as we select for survival, and in addition other characteristics we find needful, with targeted genetic changes. Its the same thing as crossbreeding, but a much faster path to the result. There are today millions of people without enough food. Engineered plants hold the promise of changing that. Side: Yes,its easier to grow
Assuming these millions are of poverty: these people should remain starving so that they will not further impact the ecosystem negatively by cause more of an imbalance. Issuing these unnatural plants to feed them ultimately defeats the purpose of human survival. Side: No its less healthy

actually nature is far worse. the extensive 'testing' done by nature extends to every individual species to come in contact with its work. at least we strive to achieve a desired outcome rather than sloppily throwing around garbage information. and once we reach a conclusive result we actually stop testing. rather hypocritical that people agree with a conceptual nature rather than the endeavours against it considering the lifestyle we live today, fighting natural urges, tendencies and systems. No, we shouldn't because that would be messing up with the natural order of things. If you genetically modify a plant you're basically taking a gene from another plant, and putting it in another and that's just wrong. Every plant has it's genetic makeup, and no one not even scientists should be able to mess with it. Side: No its less healthy

So does that mean you are against the amount of modification we have done to bananas, corn, potatoes, and almost every crop that we as humans consume? We have been modifying them for thousands of years, have you considered all of it to be unnatural? And no, modifying a plant's genes is not just splicing, by the way. Selective breeding to favor certain traits and mutations is a form of genetic modification. Side: Yes,its easier to grow

Bees pollinate constantly however if foraging from a world where all plants were GMO which produce sterile flowers the bee population would become extinct. No more honey no more natural polination. As our population increases, demand for food increases from less land that is taken up for industrial and housing development Farmers who are registered as organic or biodynamic risk contamination from their neighbours GM plants. Agriculture /horticulture is constantly changing. Huge hydroponic farms in the desert arevpowered by the sun. We are changing the way we source our food on a daily basis and like 21st C technology, as we move with it there will be winners and losers, however the loss of bees is inestimable to determine as the bulk of all crops we now grow depend upon them. The solution to declining bee population turns out to be genetically modified bees. Who Knew! Science marches on. Side: Yes,its easier to grow
